How to Prepare for Your Mobile IV Appointment
Booking your first mobile IV appointment is exciting—but you may be wondering what you should do before I arrive.
The good news is that preparing for your appointment is simple.
At Elixir Drip Studio, my goal is to make your experience comfortable, convenient, and stress-free from beginning to end.
Here are a few easy tips to help you get ready.
1. Complete Your Health Forms
Before your appointment, you'll complete the required health forms.
This information helps ensure your treatment is safe and appropriate for your individual health needs.
You'll also complete a Good Faith Exam with an authorized healthcare provider before treatment.
An individual provider order is required before your appointment can begin.
2. Drink Water Before Your Appointment
Even though you'll be receiving IV fluids, it's still a good idea to drink water before your appointment if you're able.
Being hydrated may help make it easier to place your IV.
Continue drinking water throughout the day unless you've been instructed otherwise by your healthcare provider.
3. Eat a Light Meal
Try to eat a light meal or snack before your appointment.
Receiving an IV on an empty stomach may leave some people feeling uncomfortable.
Good choices include:
Fruit
Yogurt
Toast
Oatmeal
Eggs
A sandwich
Avoid arriving extremely hungry whenever possible.
4. Wear Comfortable Clothing
Choose clothing with sleeves that can easily be rolled above your elbow.
Loose-fitting clothing makes it easier to access your arm for IV placement.
Comfortable clothes also help you relax during your appointment.
5. Choose a Comfortable Spot
One of the best parts of mobile wellness is that you don't have to travel.
Choose a place where you feel comfortable, such as:
Your couch
A recliner
Your favorite chair
A quiet room
Your hotel room
You'll be sitting for approximately 45 to 60 minutes, so pick a place where you can relax.
6. Have Something to Do
Many people enjoy using appointment time to unwind.
You might choose to:
Read a book
Watch TV
Listen to music
Watch a movie
Work on your laptop
Scroll through your phone
Catch up on emails
The time often goes by quickly.
7. Make Sure Your Phone Is Nearby
Keep your phone nearby in case I need to contact you when I arrive.
If you live in an apartment or gated community, having your phone close can make check-in easier.
8. Have a Valid ID Available
You may be asked to verify your identity before treatment.
Having your photo ID ready helps your appointment begin smoothly.
9. Ask Questions
It's completely normal to have questions.
If you're unsure about anything before your appointment, don't hesitate to ask.
My goal is to help you feel informed, comfortable, and confident throughout your experience.
10. Relax
Many first-time clients are nervous before receiving their first IV.
That's okay.
I'll explain each step before we begin and answer your questions along the way.
Most people are surprised by how simple and comfortable the experience feels.
What Happens When I Arrive?
When I arrive, I'll:
Review your health information.
Confirm your provider order.
Answer any questions.
Explain the treatment plan.
Place your IV.
Monitor you throughout your appointment.
Your comfort and safety are always my top priorities.
